Campaigner (UK-based)

Part time: two days/week

Salary: £24,000 - £27,500 (pro rata) depending on experience

TAPOL is a UK-based NGO that promotes human rights, peace and democracy in Indonesia. We are looking for a UK-based campaigner to undertake campaign work on West Papua and wider Indonesia-related issues, in particular in relation to freedom of expression. The successful candidate must be in agreement with TAPOL’s mission and objectives.

You must be fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia, have a strong background in human rights or related issues, and possess relevant work experience in campaign and advocacy work. You should have excellent oral and written communication skills, be computer-literate. have good research, organisational and self-management skills, as well as good intercultural and interpersonal skills. Proven experience in advocacy work and the ability to assist with financial administration and fundraising are also required. You will work cooperatively as part of the TAPOL team and contribute to the development of the organisation’s strategies and priorities.

Location: London, with scope for some home-based work where appropriate.

Start date: 1 May 2018, ideally.
